The first Tencent Medical ME Conference was held, with "The Question of Life" lighting up the lighthouse of authoritative medical science popularization

On November 4, 2019, the first Tencent Medical ME Conference (hereinafter referred to as "ME Conference") was held in Beijing. Top medical scientists from around the world gathered to showcase the latest cutting-edge progress in medical fields such as cancer and AIDS, promote the connection between pioneering medicine and public health, and enlighten people's understanding of real medicine. This ME conference is jointly organized by Tencent, its subsidiary Tencent Medical Dictionary, and NEJM Frontiers in Medicine (the New England Journal of Medicine, a top global general practice journal under the NEJM Group).

On the eve of the ME Conference, Ma Huateng, the Chairman and CEO of Tencent, delivered a message, expressing the hope that through the ME Conference, "more people can be guided to pay attention to life and understand themselves, and that authoritative medical science popularization can enhance public health and reduce the suffering of diseases." He also said, "We hope that 'Technology for Good' will become part of our company's mission and vision, guiding us to make good use of technology, avoid its abuse, and prevent its misuse, so that the ever-changing technological innovations can better benefit humanity."

The theme of the first ME Conference is "The Question of Life", aiming to explore the microscopic world of the human body, trace the path of human evolution, and illuminate the enlightenment light of the public's rational understanding of medicine. The guests attending the conference included Zhu Xiuxuan, Director of Liver Cancer Research at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States, Li Taisheng, Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Fei Lipeng, Director of the Crisis Intervention Research Laboratory at Shanghai Mental Health Center, and Xiao Ruiping, Executive Editor of NEJM Frontiers in Medicine and Director of the Institute of Molecular Medicine at Peking University. Tibor Kovacs, the president of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, David P. Ryan, the clinical director of the Cancer Center at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States, special sharing guest Qiu Chen, and Zhang Meng, the vice president of Tencent Healthcare.
